HW Have the best weekend EVER!

Sixth period began with the usual: we read the blog and the blogger gets to chooses who gets to blog next. Unfortunately, I was chosen. At first, the class was loud to the point you can hear them from about five rooms away. As the class finally got quiet, I think about how I can get back at Dylan, because he's the reason I'm doing the blog in the first place.

I overhear Ms. Nakada talking to a student about the HW. As I still hear people talking, we met a person named Jake and somebody said "It's Jake from State Farm!" Ms. Nakada explained to the class that Jake used to come to Emerson.

I'm hoping I don't stop typing because this is more fun than getting my journal checked and ending up getting a call home. Although I don't do the RJ sometimes, I kind of want to, for some reason. Now, Ms. Nakada is telling the class that if we don't like our books to just switch our books. I'll just stick with mine since it's a very detailed book. Someone offered me a free Samsung, which I would've accepted, couldn't take it because he took it back and gave it to it's owner. The reason I don't put names in my blog is because I don't like to talk about people. Honestly, I don't know, it just makes me feel guilty, ok, don't judge me.

I wish this day would end so I can go home, watch Pokemon on Netflix, and go to sleep. As another student comes in the room, another student says "He gonna make some chicken noodle soup." To be honest if he yelled that it would've been funnier. As we review revising, a English vocab word, we also review a new vocab word. We find ourselves looking at what to publish, where to publish what you want, and how we our going to publish that poem or story.

As a student keeps on annoying me, another reason I want to go home, I am still hoping to go home. The class got loud again and all I heard was that Mr. Bangert hated Aaron and Michael.  I said I wouldn't like talking about people or saying names but I'm at the point people should meet other people you understand? Anyway were told to get out a piece of paper to probably write. By the way, it's Julian who's annoying me. The bell rang and the chairs make a lot of noise, my wish finally came true.

David R's First blog

Class started loud and troublesome, as always. Ms. Nakada told us to copy the agenda. Which was Blog/Rj check free quick write editor submissions writer's workshop homework was Rj 7.4.

Ms. Nakada, then told us to take out a red pen to finish correcting the test. Well, it's taking forever to start, so I'll tell you about my fellow classmates: Michael is being a bit too loud and I am pretty sure I am not the only one who's noticed this, which isn't much of a surprise since this is the loudest class I have ever had the pleasure or unpleasure of being in.

Ms. Nakada is telling us the answers for the test. Well, it's kind of getting boring, so I'll wait for something interesting to come up. Ms. Nakada finished telling the answers and is telling us the percents for every grade. People are happy that they got a good grade and are showing this by screaming about how they got a good grade, because I am pretty sure it is the first time.

As the bell gets closer, class is getting louder and rowdier and I am getting excited as well. Ms. Nakada is talking to us about writer's workshop and then tells us how JK Rowling created the Harry Potter world and Stephanie Meyer created Twilight, which I think is pretty weird. If I had a dream about vampires, I would just think it's weird and not write a book about it, but that's me, I guess.

Sixth period started out normal, Ms. Nakada told Diamond to read her blog to the class. The class was a little loud, but when Diamond started to read the class stopped talking for a bit, but when there was a misspelled name someone would shout out. After Diamond read, she chose me to do the next blog. I was hoping she wouldn't choose me, but Ms. Nakada said everyone will do a blog eventually. I walked to the computer and started typing. As class went on, Ms. Nakada asked everyone to take out the RJ HW. She made a few phone calls because some kids didn't do their homework. Shortly after that, Ms. Nakada handed out red pens to grade their test. The class began to get louder and louder. As Ms. Nakada started talking about the test, the class went silent. No one was talking but someone was tapping their pen against the desk and it was getting annoying. When the teacher was talking to the class she got a phone call from Nancy's guardian. It was about not doing HW. The teacher helped the class correct their test and she told them what points they should have if they got it all right. I noticed the class tended to get loud when Ms. Nakada was not talking. The period seems like it's going to end with the class grading their test. The bell was about to ring, the class got louder, and kids seemed happy. I have to go. Typing the blog was kind of cool. Bye.

So, the class started off a little loud. Then, Ms. Nakada told Isaac to read the blog. After he was done, he chose me to do the blog. Ms. Nakada was
checking reading journals, and a lot of people didn't do it, so they had to write their names on the board. After that, Ms. Nakada told everyone to take out their English notebooks to write down their English scores. Some people were passing out papers, and that's when it started getting loud. So, Ms. Nakada came, grabbed two water bottles and asked if they were anyone's. No one answered, so she said she was gonna give it away if nobody claims it.
So, I'm sitting in class and Michael and Allyson start telling me I snort when I laugh and Michael keeps talking and talking. So, I have nothing else to talk about because it's an early day. Then, Ms. Nakada tells everyone to add up their points and I hear Erin say that she thought she had a D in the class. The bell rings and I have to leave. Good bye.

Have a good weekend!

Sixth period started and Sharon read her blog. I told her to pick me, so I could get this over with, even though I really don't want to do this. There's nothing much to talk about, so I apologize if my blog is
boring. Ms. Nakada taught us about Step-Up to writing, which is a color-coded writing strategy that helps with organization and structure. Ms. Nakada and Erin passed out the tests that we started yesterday to finish today. I wasn't able to write much because I had to finish my test. I'm glad I survived another week of school and can't wait for the weekend. The bells about to ring, so bye!

HW: Book Projects due tomorrow!

My sixth period class came in and was loud and rambunctious as usual.

Once the bell rang, everyone took out Binder Reminders and wrote down the agenda. Sharon K. came up and read her blog. She said it was boring, but it really wasn't. Nice work.

Then, we got started on The Outsiders test. Students worked diligently for the class period, while I graded reading journals.

I had to talk with Julian in the hall, and while that was happening, Erin shot her hair tie across the room. I took away a point from Jazlynn, because she was laughing, but I'll probably give it back, since it was all Erin's fault.

After the bell rang, I collected tests and dismissed the class.

See you tomorrow. I hope everyone has book projects ready to turn in.

Sixth period started off loud and rowdy as usual. As we sat down, we took out our binder reminders and wrote down the homework. After, Janan read her blog, she chose me to do the next one. Next, we started Reader's Workshop and quietly read our novels. The only sounds that I could hear was the shuffling of papers and the typing of the laptop keys. Nothing really interesting happened, except for Ms. Nakada whispering to students about them not passing their AR quizzes. Next, we took out our English notebooks and wrote down the summary of chapter 12 of The Outsiders. But instead, we got off topic and discussed the book projects around the room. After a few minutes of the book project discussion, we continued with writing the summaries. I left to go grab a sheet of paper to write down the summary. So, now I'm writing a blog and writing summaries. I suck at multitasking, but I'll do my best. My blog is super boring so I'm really sorry, Ms. Nakada. The bell is about to ring so, bye.

Sixth period started off normally, but Jasmine was not here to read her blog, so Yaritzel did. When she was finished reading Jasmine's blog, she got to choose who writes the next blog. At first, she chose Anthony, but he said he already wrote one, so she chose me.

As I got up, Erin looked at me and said she told Yaritzel to choose me. Speaking of Erin, she can be funny a times, but she is annoying. Ms. Nakada called on students to make a pile at the aisle of reading journals, so she can check them.

As Ms. Nakada is checked reading journals, students are reading the books they chose to read for class. Ms. Nakada told everybody to stop what they're doing and listen to her. She read a page of the book How My Sister Went Crazy.

She gave everyone something to use as a bookmark and gave out a piece of paper. The title of it was Responsible Use Policy for District Computer Systems (RUP). We need to bring it back signed tomorrow. It's worth 10 points. I didn't get to write a lot because it's a 37 minute period today. I'm amazed my blog is still here, since Michael kept writing, bye. Responsible use, Michael!

Well, the bell rang bye.

In sixth period, the class started off by us reading Yaritzel's blog. After that, she had to pick someone to do the blog. Sadly, she had to pick me. I'll get back at her eventually :).

Next, we wrote down the quote of the week, and the question of the week. Then, we had to write summaries for Ch. 9-10 of The Outsiders. Since everyone talks about Erin in their blogs, she just asked Ms. Nakada about how it felt to work as a life guard, and where she worked. Erin is nice and funny, and she always calls me by my last name, Ms. Raymundo. Enough about Erin.

After we wrote our summaries, Ms. Nakada had said she forgot we hadn't started our Independent Reading plan for the fall semester. Then, we had to write down ten books that we wanted to read during the fall. It's almost time to go now and I'm happy about that. Ms. Nakada is going around grading people's notebooks to check if they have been doing their reading journals. She said she is going to call parents tomorrow if they don't have them. The bell just rang, and now I'm going to leave, bye.

HW Have A Great Weekend!

Well, sixth period has started, and we listen to Daniel's blog. It was a pretty good blog, I'll give him props. After, Ms. Nakada asked him who he was going to choose, and he said my name. As I'm doing my blog, Ms. Nakada is checking reading journals. I don't know if I'm late, but I just realized these kids talk too much. But anyways, everyone is reading their reading journals to each other. Ms. Nakada now said if we finished 5.1-5.3 to make a pile, so she can check them. As I'm writing this blog, I'm thinking of who to pick to do the next blog. I would say who I'm going to pick but,I don't want the person to know.Ms. Nakada has now received a guest. I'm guessing she's a student from the past years. I may be wrong but...who knows? I'm trying to concentrate on this blog but Mr. Chatty back here talks to much. I hope you guys know who I'm referring to(Michael). I wish I'd been reading my new book, Seedfolks instead of listening to Michael talk. It's actually a good book so far.Hope it continues that way. I wish this class was done so I can go home because it's Friday! Now, these kids from last year walk in.Ms. Nakada tells them to be careful because they're gonna get kicked out. Apparently, they came in through the parking lot gate that's pretty smart of them so they wont get caught. If I would have came, I would've walked in through the front door but they wouldn't have let me in cause I'm not that bad enough to go in through the back gate. I'm so happy there is 5 minutes left of class so I'm going to start rapping up my blog. Bye, guys have a great weekend!

Disclaimer: RJ 5.1-5.3 & Letters Home due Friday!

English class sixth period has started, and today we started like usual, writing down the agenda and homework. Next, Netalia shares her blog with the class and then picks me to write the next blog. I don't know why, but I have to go along with it anyway. At the time of writing this blog, Ms. Nakada directs everyone to take out their English notebooks so they can continue to write about The Outsiders Ch. 6-12. While writing about chapter 9, Ms. Nakada starts talking about her basketball career and her getting punched while playing. I must admit, it's pretty interesting.

Ms. Nakada then instructs the class to take a piece of notebook paper out for a letter home. (At the time of writing this, I couldn't continue because nothing interesting was happening for about a good solid 10 minutes). After, the moment of silence, Ms. Nakada then says for everyone to make a pile of reading journals for her to check 4.1 to 4.3. I currently have nothing else to write about because everyone is writing their letter home, and Ms. Nakada is checking reading journals which isn't all that interesting. At exactly 2:46, it got interesting. Ms. Nakada started calling parents, because some students didn't have their reading journals complete. The calling parents home went on for about 10 minutes ,which became boring and less interesting quite quickly. Mr. Perez was at the door with another student, probably here to take a test but then quickly leaves to a different place since our class was loud. 3:00 has arrived and I must leave to go home. I'm not saying that I want to leave sixth period, but it was really boring today so might as well leave to go do something else. Or maybe it was boring because I was writing this blog today.

Netalia's First Blog

AGENDA

Reader's Workshop

Ok, today we started off with Nancy's blog. Before we came to class I had asked Nancy to pick me because I wanted to get it over with. After Nancy read her blog Ms. Nakada ask her "Who are you going to pick?" Then, Nancy said Netalia V. So, I walked up to the blog seat, and as Ms. Nakada handed me the laptop, she asked the class to take out their English notebooks, and turn to the notes we were taking yesterday.

They started to write about chapter 8 and discussed what had happened in this chapter. "In this chapter Pony and Two-bit go and visits Johnny in the hospital. He's in bad shape, and doesn't want to die. Dally is in good shape and is ready to fight. Then, they run into Cherry, who doesn't want to see Johnny." After that, Ms. Nakada said it looks like you guys are ready for this question. "What does the sunset symbolize?"

While they answered that question, Ms. Nakada asked to us to take out our reading journals and The Outsiders books, because she was going to check 4.1 to 4.3, and collect The Outsiders books. After that, she said, "When I call your name, you're going to tell me what book you are reading whether it's one of mine or yours."

Well, it's time to go now the bell is going to ring. I'll catch y'all later.

So, the day started off with us doing what we usually do, except today we got new seats and Ms. Nakada said that we will be changing our seats every 5 weeks. Well, when I walked into the class I took a seat where I was assigned and I was nervous because i know Jason would have picked me, and of course he did. I go in the front and start my blog. Also, I take out my class journal and write on the Quote of the Week page and write"... you get tough like me and you don't get hurt . Look out for yourself and nothing can touch you..." said by Dallas Winston in The Outsiders, I can kinda relate to this I guess. We move on to the Question of the Week which is "should the school day start later?" Yes, it most definitely should, because going to sleep early and waking up early is so annoying, but it's actually good for you, I understand that, but still.

We start doing cornell notes about chapter 6-12, and we discuss about how Darry was crying when he saw Pony and we were shocked. Well, I was because he didn't even cry at his parents funeral. I over hear Ms. Nakada saying this class is very chatty, which is very true, but we are the best period, so it's okay.

Ms. Nakada said that Sandy was pregnant, but it wasn't Sodapop's! That just shows how even your closest friends can hurt you.  I would have tried to make this interesting and funny, but I couldn't. Sorry, guys. Well, the day is about to end, thank you! I wanna go home and sleep and leave jail, I mean school. Okay bye!

Hw: Have an amazing weekend

`So, the day starts of great. Now a fellow student of mine choose me because I asked him to let me do the blog so I can get it over with. Ms. Nakada was helping us review The Outsiders test.  Now, everyone is going to take the test. Now, I'm going to show you a picture of a funny dog/panda.

I asked Gabriel to choose me, so I could choose someone with the first letter of n which is Nancy, my good friend. So, now Ms. Nakada started talking about doing a binder reminder check for points.

I'm thinking to myself what was I going to write about now. Everyone checked their binder and added up their points. We could have gotten 20 points. So, now I'm going to talk about my friend Erin, since all the blogs are attracted to her, so I might as well write about her. She is crazy, but she is funny, loud, and annoying some times but she is my friend.

Now, Ms. Nakada: who could have asked for a better teacher? Now, Ms. Nakada is talking about last night's chapter. Now, the class is going to take an AR test on The Outsiders.

Janan: let's take a minute. She's a good friend. She's funny and crazy.

We left for the weekend.

HW: Finish Tha Book, It Is Gud

So, sixth period has started. I'm really thrilled, because I asked Diamond before class if she could pick me to do the blog. Thankfully, and nicely, she said yeah, so I went into the classroom. Some people were energetic, but they calmed down. Ms. Nakada told Diamond to read her blog. After that, she called my name and I went to the laptop and started typing this monstrosity.

After going to my seat, Ms. Nakada told all the kids to go take out their reading journals and share with their table. Sharing, or group talks, I hate group projects, but I can rant about that later.

She started checking people's reading journals for 3.1 - 3.3, and almost immediately started to call parents telling them that their children are missing work.

For the rest of the period there was chatter as people worked on tests or Ms. Nakada asked people where was their stuff. Well, the period ended, and enjoy this cat.

Bye, people.

So, we started off class with reading Chris' blog. I told him to pick me, because I wanted to get this over with. Also cause' I didn't want to do it later. Before I started writing this blog, I heard Erin making some very weird noises. Then Ms. Nakada was asking us for our homework. Then she was telling us how to read a book, and what a bookmark is for. Cool.
Then Ms. Nakada told us to take out our English notebooks. She was showing us what our grades are. She asked people to pass out portfolio's. All I heard during that time was Erin yelling names. She is an interesting person. Then Allison walked up to me and asking if Diamond Kabba's folder was mine. I said "No." And I felt hurt considering that she is one of my best friends. For a while I was looking around to see if anything interesting was happening. I'm gonna show you a picture of a dog now.

Isn't he gorgeous? It's time to pack up and people are being very loud. But we had to grade our quizzes. Erin is talking to Issac about buying his late pass. I was just sitting there thinking about life. But I gotta go so, peace to the middle East. Gotta Blast!!!

ps. People please figure out which Diamond is which. Hint: My last name start with and "A".

T.O p. 131-149

We started of the period by hearing Ms. Nakada's Blog. It was about the quiz we took on Thursday.
After that, Stephanie chose me to write today's blog, so here I am writing the class this blog. Then, we were talking about the quote of the week which was, "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world"- Nelson Mandela
After that, we discussed the question of the week. The question of the week was: How should parents handle a bad report card? In my opinion, I think parents should talk to their son/daughter about their grades and offer them help.
Next, we started talking about The Outsiders which is the book we are currently reading in the class. We're taking cornell notes on this book; we're also discussing the chapters as a class. One of the question was: How does the author utilize plot? Another question was: How do conflicts resolve?
As the period is coming to an end, the class starts to get a bit excited. Now, Ms. Nakada lets the class pack up so we can get ready to leave. As the class gets ready to leave, Erin starts to yell and offer people some lotion. Well, it's time for me to go, bye.
