Book v. Movie
Reader's Workshop
Hw: Rj 8.1 15-20 pages of a book of your choice
We started of class somewhat talkative. We first listened to David R's blog and corrected it. I then got chosen by him because, actually I don't know. Ms. Nakada then tells the class to take out their English Notebook's. We wrote down the question and quote of the week. The question of the week is "What awards or honors does one list on college applications?" and the quote was "Awards become corroded, friends gather no dust." by Jesse Owens. Ms. Nakada then talks about how Jesse Owens proved to the world that the German's were not the best, or superior. Ms. Nakada then talks about oustide accomplishments that we may use to put on our college applications, such as bieng a musician, playing sports and getting to the finals/semi-finals, etc.
Ms. Nakada then explains that we are basically aloud to slack off, but shouldn't. Ms. Nakada then talks about highschool and how if we slack off in highschool, you're basically going to dropout and waste a whole year and must redo that year. Ms. Nakada then talks about how some of her old students don't contact her because of them bieng ashamed. Gtg, I want to see TKAM movie, peace.
